Personal AchievementRecognized a current or former Community Action participant or customer who achieved significant personal accomplishments. ImpactRecognized a Community Action employee whose leadership made a meaningful impact on a community, agency, program, or the network. PromiseRecognized a person who exemplified the mission, values, and spirit of Community Action through significant contributions. Rising StarRecognized an up-and-coming Community Action employee who showed exceptional promise early in their career. Opportunity and AccessRecognized innovative work that advanced opportunity, access, collaboration, learning, and transformative change. 2025 Category DescriptionsCommunity Action Personal Achievement AwardThis award recognized a current or former Community Action participant or customer who achieved significant personal accomplishments. The individual demonstrated a commitment to persevere despite obstacles or disability, worked hard, served as a positive influence, showed appreciation, and was dedicated to helping themselves and others. This award was not intended for staff persons. Community Action Impact AwardThis award recognized an existing employee of the Community Action Network who, through excellent leadership, positively and significantly impacted a specific community or the network at large and worked to promote greater economic opportunity for children and families. Community Action Promise AwardThis award recognized an individual who contributed significantly to the Community Action Network, its programs, and activities and exemplified the true meaning of Community Action. Community Action Rising Star AwardThe Rising Star Award was presented to an up-and-coming Community Action employee who showed exceptional promise and made a significant impact early in their career. Community Action Opportunity and Access AwardThis award recognized exceptional and innovative contributions by Community Action Agencies, staff, and programs in advancing opportunity and access throughout New York’s Community Action Network.
