About the Alliance
The NY ROMA Alliance is a group of Certified ROMA Trainers and Certified ROMA Implementers who currently work at a Community Action Agency in New York State or with the New York State Department of State, Division of Community Services. The purpose of the Alliance is to bring ROMA professionals together to support a culture of results across Community Action Agencies. Through shared learning, peer support, and practical resources, the Alliance helps agencies strengthen planning, data use, performance management, and continuous improvement. NYSCAA supports this work in partnership with New York’s Community Action Network and state partners committed to advancing ROMA practice. Results Oriented Management and Accountability, commonly known as ROMA, is a performance-based management system used throughout Community Action. ROMA helps agencies connect assessment, planning, implementation, achievement of results, and evaluation into one continuous cycle of improvement. ROMA is more than a reporting requirement. It is a management practice that supports stronger decision-making, clearer outcomes, better use of data, and improved services for individuals, families, and communities. ROMA Next Generation places increased focus on data-informed decision-making, integration of the ROMA cycle, the National Community Action Theory of Change, local theories of change, and a commitment to community-level change.
